Description

The Principal Digital Product & Strategy Investment guides numerous multi-disciplinary teams of product managers, designers, software and data engineers, and data scientists in virtue of a number of Experience Center (XC) investments, keeping the teams on track and establishing the thought leadership that will guide the learning agenda and series of value-based outcomes. This person, in part, is a futurist – bringing the future back to the present to help realize a digitally enabled healthcare ecosystem.

Responsibilities

This person will:

Provide business-relevant perspectives – which typically involves developing an understanding of the people we serve and their needs, market and competitive factors, identifying and prioritizing opportunities, and helping to frame the overarching narrative of an investment.

Indirectly manage and coach junior colleagues.

Lead by structuring approaches and writing proposals, make pre-sales business development presentations to prospective internal clients where they deliver perspectives on trends and future market developments.

Have extensive, applied experience of and understand the balance between a number of the following disciplines: product management, experience strategy and human-centered design as well as business model design.

Be hands-on, and equally analytical and conceptual.

Develop an understanding of the client’s business environment and strategy, and ensure the Experience Center’s custom solutions meets unmet Human needs as well as our client’s business priorities – and help drive these to be one and the same

Lead and, or co-lead client engagements on a day to day basis

Be a master of foundational consulting skills, including discovery, problem framing and structuring, expertise in XC methodologies such as inception workshop facilitation, design research and quantitative analysis

Demonstrate expertise in a number of skills (need not be all of them), such as business model development, financial modeling, product portfolio planning, organizational strategy, channel and go-to-market models, customer / market research, product management, experience strategy and design, screen-based design and, or graphic design, communication design and, or UI design.

Conduct executive and expert interviews

Lead client presentations

Select appropriate frameworks, tools and approaches to use in solving client problems

Contribute to business development and thought leadership activities

Work in a balance between local studio-based involvement and extended travel to other studios and client sites

Required Qualifications:

Intellectual curiosity, structured systems thinking and a comfort with and confidence in times of ambiguity

6 years of experience in one or more areas of the product development lifecycle – user research, envisioning new solutions, market validation, business modeling, requirements definition, architecture definition, design, implementation, and support strategies

Solid understanding of human centered design and the design process

High peer, end-user, or client satisfaction with the work products that have been created

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and to mentor junior colleagues

Developer of thought leadership material for publication

Strong writing skills

Experience in supporting business development efforts

Willingness to travel to meet client requirements (sometimes for extended periods) if and as travel is known to be safe

Experience in helping companies embrace transformation, uniting technology efforts around a common vision that is anchored in customer needs.

Business development experience is necessary, and experience lecturing and writing about product management, experience strategy, and design is preferred.

Must have business level ability in English, every additional language is a plus

Additional Information:

This person will report to the Head of the Digital Health & Analytics Experience Center (XC) as a member of the XC core leadership team. Consequently, this person will have exposure to and present to the CEO and Management Team (MT).
