Product Management Jobs

Product management involves dealing with the planning and marketing of a product or a variety of products from concept creation to final production. Product management jobs are available in almost every industry, like information technology, retail, manufacturing etc.

A project manager drives strategy and requirements for products in the market, including pricing, packaging, and product positioning. Other responsibilities of a product manager include executing product planning and delivery, managing all aspects of product marketing efforts while providing leadership to the marketing group in the development of marketing strategies, assisting sales staff in effective implementation of product plans and defining product and functional requirements for new products. Conducting business acceptance tests and incorporating customer feedback into future product requirements are also part or a product manager’s job.

The minimum qualification required for a product manager job is a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field. Some companies may prefer an MBA. Prior successful product management experience is important. Other prerequisites of the job are effective communication, computer, analytical and problem solving skills.
