See yourself working for an industry-leading prestige beauty retailer. As the VP Accounting & Financial Planning & Analysis, you are responsible for driving financial planning and accounting, including monitoring, forecasting, analysis and reporting for Dermstore. You will work closely with the CEO, as well as the Executive Team to develop and model new financial strategies. You will be the catalyst for assessing the underlying performance of the business, identifying trends and deciding how to evolve the strategy to produce even better financial results. You will also be responsible for the timely reporting of the financial forecast and accounting performance, both internally and to our investors.
Dermstore is
looking for an energetic, highly motivated professional to serve as a Product Development Manager to actualize the vision of new products or brands. The role of the Product Development Manager is to ensure SKUs are manufactured on-time and within budget by managing all aspects of production of finished goods - sometimes on short timelines.
They will manage product and packaging development and work directly with contract manufacturers and suppliers. They will also partner with the brand manager to determine wholesale pricing, cost of goods, develop the dashboard, and receive necessary margin and product approvals as needed.
Core Responsibilities
Create initial product development brief for suppliers
Partner with manufacturing partners to identify benchmarks and develop formulas
Coordinate all testing for products in development
Conduct pricing and COGS analysis to ensure product profitability
Partner with Brand Manager to develop product portfolio taking into consideration market segmentation, market share analysis, competitor and pricing analysis
Manage timelines, feedback and communication with vendors
Evaluate product performance
Track and maintain log of formula and packaging submissions
Partner with brand manager to determine wholesale pricing and cost of goods
Develop the dashboard and receive necessary margin approvals
Ensure cost structure guidelines are met with continued review and improvement of margin points while working within the given parameters
Request and manage formula samples, technical information from suppliers and create bill of materials as needed
Work with vendors to determine redirects as necessary and determine any testing needed to support marketing claims
Outline timeline milestones for the Creative Department and provide all necessary die-lines
Partner with suppliers to ensure packaging and formula compliance
Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraise new product ideas and/or current product and packaging changes.
Partner with cross functional teams to define product claims and copy
Work closely with leadership to manage & execute on all project phases, creating and monitoring project timelines and milestones
Utilize trends and knowledge of the competitive landscape to identify gaps in the current product assortment
Collaborate
with cross functional partners to deliver a portfolio of initiatives that is sufficient to fulfill the brand innovation strategy
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the beauty industry supporting new product launches and effectively interacting with manufacturers
Ability to effectively present information and communicate with all levels of management
Build alignment
with stakeholders on all plans while demonstrating courageous leadership and smart risk taking.
Ability to
effectively frame & communicate to leadership to ensure fast decision making
Convey a sense of urgency to drive issues to closure and find creative solutions
Be a great multi-tasker and executor
Must feel comfortable being driven by deadlines with a high sense of urgency
Understanding of new product development processes & stage gate approach
Exposure to production environment & managed interaction and processes with packaging and manufacturing vendors
Proactively seeks improvements and is a solution provider and problem solver
Familiarity with Wrike, Basecamp and any other project management-based tools
Respond with sensitivity to people of diverse perspectives, ideas, backgrounds, lifestyles and ages; Foster open communication and respect for individual.
