Description
Humana's Director, Observability Products is a pivotal role in driving and maturing the Enterprise Observability capabilities.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
partner with architecture, operations, engineering and enterprise information protection teams to deliver on the strategic roadmap for Observability
lead the Observability product managers, architects and will work with Observability engineering teams to deliver and support capabilities for the enterprise
lead the team that defines the Observability standards and operate the necessary governance to ensure the consistent adoption of standards throughout the enterprise.
advance the observability maturity journey across the enterprise in an effort to accelerate business outcomes driven practices
drive an evidence-based approach for developing and refining a product roadmap and strategy
partner with cross functional teams to identify new capabilities, define features, and work closely with development to deliver on the roadmap
mature product management practices and help establish best practices
track product metrics and systematically assess viability of investments helping rationalize across multitude of vendor products
establish strong working relationships across various teams with associates at all levels and with partners
synthesize a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality products and applications that support business driven outcomes
define enterprise standards, develop and enforce governance controls for Observability
lead and collaborate on developing reference implementations for various observability capabilities
provide best practices guidance for approved observability products
articulate and evangelize Enterprise Observability standards
Required Qualifications
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a similar field required
8 or more years of experience in product management, engineering or architecture roles at leading-edge companies
Expertise developing multi-year product strategies and business cases. Experience in product discovery methods, such as design thinking.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to engage with executive level stake holders
Experience with observability, monitoring and logging products (such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Sumologic, Solarwinds, Thousand Eyes, Datadog, New Relic, Grafana etc.)
Familiarity with common industry monitoring frameworks like Four Golden Signals, LETS, DORA, MTTx, etc.
Experience with open standards (such as OpenTelemetry, StatsD, etc.)
Experience with event management products (such as ServiceNow ITOM, Big Panda, Splunk ITSI)
Experience defining technology standards and building frameworks for adoption and governance
Experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure
Experience with multi-cloud environments, cloud services, and platform software
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and building-trusting relationships with stake holders
Experience working with mission critical systems
Ability to apply the principles of analytical and critical thinking skills and other professional practices to diagnose or define problems, collect data and solve abstract problems with widespread organizational impact
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative and agile environment
Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Prior management or team leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
MS or higher in an engineering discipline
Healthcare experience

Location: Remote, anywhere USA
Requires 10-15% travel as business needs dictate
